Wishes Granted
Ian - To have a Laptop
Ian, aged 17, was referred to us by Southampton Hospital. He was diagnosed with a Ewing’s Sarcoma in his pelvis last October and is currently awaiting surgery. Ian asked for a laptop to help him keep in touch with friends and also with music editing. We knew that Ian was a huge Portsmouth FC Fan and wanted to meet the team so we arranged for Ian to have his Laptop presented at the Pompey training ground. Ian and his family were then able to watch the team train. After the team came off the pitch Peter Crouch presented Ian with his laptop. Ian was able to get his Portsmouth FC Shirt signed by the team. Ian hasn’t come back down to earth yet!
George - To ride on the Footplate of a Steam Engine
George aged 5 lives in Basingstoke and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in February 2006. He loves trains with a passion and asked us to help fulfil his biggest Wish of riding on the footplate of a real life steam hauled engine. Due to his age and insurance reasons this was not as easy as first thought. However, with a bit of searching and the wonderful generosity and support of Didcot Railway Centre his Wish came true!
Hannah - To meet Katherine Jenkins
Hannah aged 15, is from Andover and was referred to us by Southampton Hospital. Hannah has now completed treatment for a brain tumour. She is very talented and is studying singing, speech and drama at school. She aims to take an ‘A’ Level in theatre studies then a degree in Musical Theatre. Her ambition is to be an opera singer. She is a huge fan of Katherine Jenkins and really wanted to meet her. With the help of Katherine Jenkins’ manager we managed to arrange this. The family travelled up to Harrogate where they met Katherine. They chatted about Hannah’s singing and then Katherine asked a favour, “Can you sing for me?" Hannah held her dad’s hand to steady her nerves and performed for her - Katherine was very impressed. During Katherine's concert that Hannah and her family watched that evening, Katherine announced to the audience that she had met Hannah and dedicated a song to her. Hannah was blown away!
Emily - To see her best friend, Lucy again
Emily, aged 16, from Dorset was suffering from Osteosarcoma. Her Wish was to meet her best friend, Lucy who had emigrated to Australia. We couldn’t fly Emily to Australia, but we did organise her a Christmas treat - Lucy was flown back to England for a fantastic 2 week holiday together. The girls had a fabulous time catching up with each other and friends. They went to the school concert and enjoyed shopping trips in to town.
Disney works its magic for Zanib and her family.

When Zanib contacted us 2 years ago to ask for a wish, there was only one thing she wanted to do and that was to go to Disnleyland Paris. Zanib has had cystic fibrosis since birth and because of the severity of her condition was unable to fly so the family were sent 1st class by Eurostar.
The family had so much fun, especially sharing a few magical moments with the Disney characters. There were lots of smiles all round and very happy memories to remember always.
Ella gets her wish to be a Zoo Keeper for the Day
Animal mad Ella was referred to us by her mum and we were delighted to grant her wish to be a Zoo Keeper for the day. Paradise Wildlife Park were more than happy to accommodate the wish of this lovely little girl and treated her like a VIP for the Day. The highlight of which was to spend time feeding and playing with the Meerkats, of which she is a huge fan.
